Mix young, pissed-off Noxian energy with the mournful, dulcet tones of Bilgewater's Gray Harbor and throw in a dash of Shuriman flair for good measure and you've got an idea of what it's like to attend a FIRSTBLOOD gig.
When local punk legend Katarina crashed into Bilgewater's own siren Miss Fortune at a PENTAKILL farewell tour date, it was only a matter of time before they recognized they were a match made in hell: Katarina had been looking for someone with enough nerve to match her frenetic musical energy, and Sarah had been waiting for an opportunity to branch out. In the span of scarcely a week, they'd torn through a case of rapture rum and in Sarah's garage and came out swinging with their first demo tape DOWN AMONG THE DEAD MEN. It was angry, it was raw, it was infectious, and the duo knew just that fast they'd hit on something big... but they needed more power.
Enter Shuriman-Noxian hard rocker Samira, known best for fist-pumping partycore outfit WILD RUSH, where she and Sarah first got acquainted. She'd heard the duo in their demo phase, but wasn't quite sold on the outfit until a Wild Rush tour stop in Bilgewater, opened by the SYREN herself. Sarah let her in on some of the scratch tracks FirstBlood was working on for their first EP release, and Samira could see the potential in their bigger, more theatrical direction, but she still needed to be convinced: since Wild Rush was still shopping labels for their own EP, why not split the difference and release them together to see if they could measure up?
The inclusion of hard-hitting Noxian up-and-coming mistress of metal RELL behind the FirstBlood kit gave them the edge they needed, and after a brief whirlwind Shadow Isles weekend stint in support of the record, Samira was on board. They had the energy and the drive, now all they needed was the style and dramatics, and she brought it in spades.
Now a full-fledged four-stack, FirstBlood has hit a number of one-off gigs all along the coastlines of Noxus, Zaun, and the Serpent Isles, bringing their own brand of in-your-face mayhem wherever they go and leaving devastation and throngs of newly-converted devotees in their wake.
And we're just getting started...
